Charles James British Fashion Designer Drawing Mid Century Modern Cincinnati Art Museum Provenance. The piece was a gift from the Dayton Art Institute to the Cincinnati Art Museum. Deaccessioned from both. Size is about 14X16.5 inches. With the mat it is about 20X26.5 inches. Made in 1965. Very tiny tears bottom margin. Some minor discoloration.
Charles James was one of the most prominent and famous fashion designers of the 20th century. His pieces can be found in major museums such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
