Ann Michalov Illinois WPA artist lithograph. Famous woman artist. Modernist portrait titled “Sylvia.” Edition of 5/8. Nice color contrast. Size of the work is about 11X15.5 inches. With the mat it is about 13X17.5 inches. Piece is not dated but most of these print were made for the works progress administration. They were made in 1935. She made a lot of murals for the Federal Government through the WPA program. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Piece is in nice shape. Made on very thin paper. Has some minor creasing in margin, minor discoloration. Image is in excellent condition.
