Photograph History
Definition
A photograph is a medium of art that must be created using a camera device. “Photography, by definition, is to draw with light or to make an image with light onto a surface. It does not require any specific technical apparatus to form these marks.”
History
Even though the photograph is modern, what is considered a camera has been around for a long time. The first camera in history, which was from the 4th century B.C.E., was referred to as “Obscura.”
Polaroid camera
The polaroid cameras are very popular nowadays but were in market since 1948. The beauty of the polaroid is that one is able to print a photograph right after taking the picture.
Cameras in Phones
The Sharp company took the digital camera one step farther and created the World’s first camera phone in 2000.
The smartphones are creating a digital revolution that influence social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tik Tok, etc.
Today, most people have a camera in some form, although the increasing popularity of smartphone cameras has meant less demand for stand-alone camera products.
